Hannah Woodman WorkshopDecember 5, 2012
A wonderful painting workshop run by Hannah took place on Friday 23 November. It was organised by the CTSAE combined Truro schools art events group which comprises of 6 local schools – Truro School, Richard Lander, Penair School, Pencallenick, Truro High School and Out of Schools.
4 Gifted and Talented pupils were picked from each school. The day began with a visit to the gallery where the pupils had a talk by Hannah about her work. It focused on this years group theme of ‘weather’. She talked about her technique of layering and working from her memory. The pupils had chance to study the work through sketching and chatting to Hannah. Back in the art studio they were instructed how to build layers of colour to produce exciting under painting from which they were able to build up upon. With her careful eye and helping hand the pupils were able to crate some amazing painting looking at snow scenes and stormy seas. The work was exhibited in the studio outside the Heseltine Gallery
