The Newlyn Society of Artists: FLUX

January 15, 2014

The Newlyn Society of Artists is all about the South West. It comprises around 140 artists who are from, live in or have strong connections with Britain’s wonderful West Country. It’s unsurprising that their new exhibition, entitled FLUX, is as eclectic, exciting, unpredictable and beautiful as the county that inspired its creators.

According to the NSA, this show comes at a time of change in their development, as they seek to widen their portfolio of ground-breaking shows across the region. The artists involved in the NSA work across the full range of contemporary media including painting, sculpture, photography, printmaking, video/digital, site specific and performance, many of which can be sampled in their new exhibition. FLUX sees each chosen artist presenting a major work that manifests a moment of flux within their own practice, whilst neatly mirroring that of the society as a whole. It is therefore both an important addition to their work and one that should not be missed.
