Twisted Textiles

February 4, 2014

The Heseltine’s upcoming exhibition, Twisted Textiles, sees acclaimed contemporary textile artists bringing together installation work in radically diverse materials such as lace, pins, machine components, blades and vintage French peasant undergarments.

It’s not simply a study of texture: the exhibition explores themes of class, status and wealth. Acknowledging the small cogs that move big machines, philosophically, this is both an observation of social hierarchies and an examination of them. Come and see for yourself how twisted the textured world can be.
